June 15th is when the Global Wind Day is being celebrated. The wind has been used as an energy source for a long time. It had its usage even before our era, for example it was used for grain grinding in mills, or pumping water and irrigating fields. In the Code of Hammurabi from XVIIIth century BC we can read that the wind was being used by the windmills, while in India the first usage of windmill to transport water was observed around IVth century BC
Continuing the heritage of our ancestors, we support activities that use wind as a renewable and environmentally safe source of energy.
On this special day, let’s remember about the huge potential of the wind and the positive effects of renewable energy sources.
We would like to inform you that on the occasion of today’s holiday, together with PWEA (Polish Wind Energy Association), we are taking part in the “Summer with the wind” campaign as part of the “Green School”. The project promotes pro-ecological attitudes of young people, including expanding knowledge about the benefits of using renewable energy sources, such as wind energy.
We believe that thanks to education and actions like this one, social sensitivity to issues related to environmental protection will increase.
